Progress Report #67: May 2023

Hi everyone,

We’ve been working hard as usual, and this middle of May bore witness to some new creations as well as improvements to existing content! What's more, we have a special announcement by the end of this post, so stay tuned!

With the summer temps now peaking, one of the first few things that folks do in order to cool down, is to shed layers of clothing. However, our dear old Caly is afforded no such courtesy these days. She dun goofed up something awful, and the Henosian fuzz intends to keep her sweating in all sort of unmentionable ways. As one might discern, from the image attached, her tightly strapped melon breads aren't having a good time but, we're going to hazard a guess and presume that at least our artist surely is~

Now this one is a major find: You might remember us mentioning the writer team working on a re-haul of the game introduction some time ago. Initially, we were under the impression that this was limited to dialogue and story elements only to make the reader experience more immersive. However, it turns out it is more than just that. The team has extensive plans to turn the post tank scene sequence into a full on game-play oriented experience right from the point where Caly gets rescued upto where she finally makes it to Setek! Yep, it's full steam ahead on more RPG elements and we're not settling for future content only!

Finally, the code... well, sadly when development is in the initial/median stages, there are only a handful things to do when it comes to implementation. You already are well informed of our ongoing tussle with QuestLog as well as the constant tinkering with plugins to optimize the game better for a variety of hardware, so we won't spam you with the same stuff again.

Instead, how about a teaser sample as bribe? We promise there would be more where that came from!

And that is our report for this month! Before we bid adieu, an announcement:

After carefully evaluating our plans and future schedule, we have decided to divide the next major patch into staggered mini releases. We'll start with the first of the three planned bad ends which will be out on 27th of May! The decision was taken in order to give more individual attention on varying elements of the planned content as we would prefer to avoid team fatigue by tackling everything consecutively rather than all of it together. 

We'll splash more details on the release date(s), so keep an eye out on this page! Till then, take care!
