Progress Report #112: April 2024


Adventurers,

Welcome back to our quick overview of VoidBound's development journey for the month of April.

Let's start with some art related updates:

As the upcoming release draws nearer, our artist is diligently wrapping up the remaining concept tasks. At the forefront of these tasks are the robot defeat scenes, which have now entered the final stages of rendering.

In addition, the formidable mini-boss, The Warden, is poised to unleash chaos! His combat sprites and standing art have been fully prepared for implementation, with only a few finishing touches remaining on some combat assets.

Furthermore, significant strides have been made in the development of boss sprites and related CG works, and we're thrilled with the progress thus far.

Meanwhile, our writers have been tweaking the Iron Maiden Scene to enhance its impact.

Additionally, we are revamping VoidBound's core description, which was conceived at the beginning of development. With the game's launch on Steam's Early Access approaching, it's the perfect time for a more polished introduction. Stay tuned for an updated overview!

Lastly, our efforts to improve and streamline tutorials, menus, and pages have continued throughout the week. Our goal is to ensure both new and returning players be able to easily navigate the game mechanics.

Our latest alpha build, which includes nearly all new game elements, is currently undergoing rigorous testing. Thanks to the invaluable help and feedback from our community, we've identified and addressed various dialogue issues and unintended scenario loops.

Additionally, a range of new scenes have been implemented, including the Trap Scene (Iron Maiden), Stuck in Floor Trap Scene, and Conveyor Trap. Whether it's the bots' penchant for ambushing their foes or a reflection of the underground infrastructure's serious disrepair, Caly seems to get caught in some rather "naughty" scenarios pretty frequently.

With that, we bid adieu to another week as well as another month of hard work on the game. A lot of things are set to unfurl in May with the impending Early Access launch, so we're definitely looking forward to bringing you those exciting unveils and updates!
